Geologist / Geological engineer

Job description

SOQUEM inc., a subsidiary of Investissement Québec, is looking for a motivated person to fill a contractual position of geologist/geological engineer (project manager).

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the person sought is responsible for all stages of exploration related to the projects entrusted to them. They ensures the planning, organization, supervision and implementation of drilling programs and field campaigns, as well as the monitoring of the associated budgets. They participates in the writing and/or writes geoscientific and technical reports.

Primary duties

  • Generate and propose projects/targets for exploration work;
  • Plan and coordinate the logistics of exploration work;
  • Participate and supervise exploration work;
  • Prepare and present the results of the work carried out;
  • Participate in the development of the global strategy of the exploration sector.

Requirements

Education

University degree in earth sciences or engineering with geology option.

Special requirements

  • Knowledge of ArcGIS software and the Office suite.
  • Mastery of the French language (spoken and written).
  • Basic language skills in English (spoken and written).

Work schedule
